The University of Santiago de Compostela Research Group GI-1927 Citizenship and Communication (Cidacom), related to the Communication Science Department, celebrates since four years an annual meeting.The annual Citizenship and Communication Forum tries to promote debates on different aspects related to the different iniciated research lines, or to those research lines that are to be taken on. The Research Group GI-1927, which belongs to the Communication Science department of the University of Santiago the Compostela, has been celebrating a yearly meeting for the past four years. The purpose of this annual forum is to promote debate on different aspects of the already iniciated research lines or on those yet to be taken on. The main Cidacom research lines are:
- Spaces of Communication Development. Development of communication spaces.
- Communication tools Disposal for Citizens. The disposal of communication tools among citizens.
- How to get citizen's representation and participation on media.
Thus, from those three basic questions, several transverse research lines arise, such as:
- Communication and information new tecnologies.
- Communication and culture policies and their community implications.
- Communication studies, critical theory.
- Political economy of communication.
- Journalistic and narrative genre
- Galizas's communication history.
In order to reach these goals, Cidacom offers a wide range of services and resources:
- Reports and audits for entreprises and institutions.
- Development of communication plans, attending to questions such as: communicative iniciatives on generating social and citizen texture, deontologic codes of communication, promotion and management of the audiovisual and enterteinment fields, design of cultural agendas and contents for citizens.
- Professional training for institutions, entreprises and associations on the adaptation of journalists to the information and communication society, audiovisual literacy, development of didactic materials, journalistic specialization.
- Organization of congresses and academical meetings.
- Scientifical publications.
