The vi citizenship and communication forum is a scientific meeting organized annually by the CIDACOM investigation group from the Santiago de Compostela University, in order to sharing with the scientific community and the public the investigation lines developed by the group and consolidating relations with the institutions and entities of civil society that perform their work in the citizenship and communication field. So far, subjects such as the third sector and communication, citizenship and documentary, press and citizenship, city and communication and public good have been addressed by this forum.

On the present edition, the encounter proposes different activities: the encounter, that will take place on November 8-9; the media and migrations workshop, that will be carried on in the afternoons from 10-12 November, and the migration documentary exhibition, to be run each morning from November 10-12.

The encounter wants to become a focal point for debate on migration and communication by means of conferences, communications and round tables. 

The migrations and media workshop has a participatory and public-outreach focus and is intended mainly for students as well as members of migrant organizations, with the collaboration of scholars, media professionals, migrant associations and institutions in order to developing analysis criteria and good communicational practices regarding migration and migrants.

The documentary exhibition tries to show different features of migration and become them closer to the public. The films, produced by people and institutions working on this field, will be commented by experts in order to encourage the public participation on the debate.
