The VI Citizenship and Communications Forum will publish the papers selected by the Scientific Committee. The proposals/abstracts should be sent by e-mail to info@forocidadania.org until October 16 2010. The selected papers will be notified on October 30 2010. The complete text is due on November 2 2010.
An international Scientific Committee will review the quality and relevance of the proposals/abstracts and papers and will select up to 10 papers to be read in the plenary forum. The rest of them will be published in the Forum´s proceedings.
Topics may include (but are not limited to):
- The concept of migration and migrant in the communication field.
- Migrant people’s communicational rights and responsibilities.
- Good professional journalistic practices regarding migration and migrants.
- Kinds, characteristics and contexts for the emission of media messages regarding migration and migrants.
- Political and social influence of media discourse regarding media and migrants.
- Communication of migration policies and representation of the host society for migrant population.
- Discourse and role of NGOs in migrant communication.
- Discourse, role and use of the migrant organizations about communication and media.
- Kinds, characteristics and projection of media within migration.
- Role of new technologies in communication about migration and migrant´s communication
- Participation dynamics in migrant´s media.
- Social daily life and communication for migrants.
- Diaspora concept and different forms of diasporic communication.
- Communication, migration and citizenship.
- International conflicts and migration in media.
- Communication as an instrument for conflict mediation among cultures.
- Gallegan migration and media.
- The value of the gallegan migratory experience as means for the reconciliation and development of resources and policies for migration.

We welcome 200 words abstracts/proposals with keywords highlighted. They will be sent through the following link: Contact - Submit paper.
SELECTED PAPERS
The selected papers should be sent in Word or PDF format, 10 pages or less. Please use plain text (Times New Roman 12) with 1,5 spacing. The title, sub-epigraphs, authors and university/research centre, should be in bold. The authors should attach a short personal biography of 5 lines or less.
IMPORTANT
The inscription of the paper has a 50€ cost, to dbe deposited in an account number that will be sent to you after your abstract submission.
