5. Conference: galician migration and media (40 min)

6. Conference: diasporic communities and communication (40 min)

7.conference: uses and outreach of new technologies in migration (40 min)

Afternoon:

10 CLOSING ceremony (15 min)

At the time, the forum program is subject to changes. Experts and media representatives from spain have already confirmed their assistance.

Workshop:

The workshop modules are structured considering 4 hours of work each afternoon with the following thematic organization:

Nov. 10

1) the representation of migrant people by media. Cases.

Nov. 11

2) Good communicational practices on migration issues. Cases.

Nov. 12

3) Use of cyber networks and other media by migrant communities. 

Each day, representatives of organizations, institutions and media will participate in the debate on the topics proposed. This will take around 2 hours. Next, there will be group work for the participants for about an hour and in the following half an hour, each group will expose the results to the plenum.

Documentary exhibition:

Three public-aimed documentaries will be presented, one each day. The firs one, about galician migration, and the two other ones about core migratory issues, and all of them will be commented for debate. This will take aprox. 3 hours each morning from 10-12 nov.

PUBLICATION AND DIFUSSION:

The main diffusion of the forum is aimed at the academic field, but also for students and the public. The impact of the forum also considers the positioning of new tools for the analysis of the migration phenomena within the migration press.

CIDACOM Investigation Group maintains a website linked to university departments as well as to organizations and institutions that collaborate with this event.

A Memoir of texts edited by a Spanish Publishing House will compile the contributions, results and other inputs of the forum to be distributed in libraries.
